Wondered what people DONT like, aesthetically about peoples tanks/pics.

My tank is nothing to brag about and I know that everyone will have different opinions.

Just a bit of fun.

I'll get the ball rolling.

I dont like:

1. old style timber cabinets
2. double or triple return pipes poking out and over the wier.
3. loc line snaking around the tank

beautiful tanks surrounded by trash(messy house)
Frankentanks. hob fuge,hob skimmer, wires and cords everywhere.
I recently saw a pic of someones tank and he was complaining about his electric bill (1200 a month)and man I never in my life saw a tank that literally had wires hanging all over it. and extentions cords everywhere he even had clothes hangers up over the tank so the cords wouldn't fall in. I wish I could find that pic. it would def make tank nightmare of the year.

Someone here had a castle and skull in their tank, along with Live Rock and Corals. I didn't care for the castle at all, but the skull covered in coraline was actually pretty cool.

Equipment and cords hanging all over the tank...HoB skimmers/filters/refugium boxes/etc

It takes away from the focus...the contents of the tank. A few powerheads are necessary, but that's about all I like to see aside from the stand/canopy/glass box of reef.

Blue tank background on a reef tank. Every time I see one of those blue backgrounds it reminds me of the crappy 80's fish only tanks with bleached coral skeletons. But that just me. Black backgrounds FTW.

I don't like the regular blue backrounds either, but I just got a blue one that is really really dark (a shade bluer than black), and it looks pretty sweet.

Dark blue doesn't look bad at all. The bright blue ones are distracting, they are brighter than the corals.

I don't like canopies. Personal opinion, though. I have a BB tank and love it

Rimless tanks with powerheads inside making all the wires visible. Then the mess inside and around the tank.
