Diamond Goby question

Does your diamond goby only come out at night?

Mine likes to stay under the rocks from dawn to dusk. I dont mind b/c I have clean sand but I thought he would be more active during the day. I have had him for a month now.

My yellow watchman goby is only ever out when the lights are off.
