Hey guys,
I used really fine dry sand from Marcos when setting up my tank. It's moving around a lot and forming dunes near my rocks and leaving other spots bare. Should I get some other live sand and mix it in? Think this will be less of a problem once my tank matures? (only 2 weeks old)
In other news I am going to try to make it to a meeting sometime soon but its hard for me in the summer.

well if its dry sand from marco and no live bacetria and was put in then you wont have a problem doing it now. do little at a time siphon out a section and add the section on there i would guess.if you mix it in the the sugar sand will settle somewhere and you will only see the larger sand.

Do any local stores carry live sand in 5lb bags?
Petco & Petsmart might...of course there is the question if it is truly "live". You may want to check the flow, maybe it is pointing down too much.

Yeah I moved the powerheads higher in the tank last night. I think I'll give it a few weeks and see if I'm still having a problem.
Thanks for the Chaeto by the way Joe! I've seen lots of little critters in the last few days (white flatworms, Copepods and Collinista snails)

Sweet, lots of good stuff in there. Although i think the snails are baby turbos. I had a pair in my fuge for months.
