I have a corallife light fixture with four 21 inch 65 watt compact fluorescent lights on my 75 gallon. 2 of them are white and 2 of them are blue actinic.

I am wondering what kind of corals I can have. A friend of mine with some experience in salt doesn't think I can have any anemone's ( one of my favorites). I know that the lighting isn't the greatest but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas/suggestions of what I can have that will stay healthy with these lights? I did a bit of searching but wasnt able to find the info I was looking for.

i would stick to softies and maybe a few LPS toward the top. I wouldn't try an anemone though

you should start with softies then some lps i would forget anemones more then lighting they need a mature tank with stable prams. take your time and have fun

I love salt water but the downside... takes forever to get going, and its so expensive!.

You ain't kiddin'!!!!!

Anyways, I've got the same light. They are 2 10k's and 2 actinics. A firend of mine has a 55 gal with the same light, switched the 2 10k's for half 10k half 6500. He seems quite successful, has a purple tip anemone and even a big old colorful clam sitting on the substrate. He has other stuff, too.

But, he must have a salt thumb, 'cuz accordign to what I know, he is doing everything wrong. He uses tap water, uses cannister filters, puny little skimmer, has minimum rock more as a platform for his corals, has UV filter, sneers at refugiums, etc, stc, etc.
