Would a peacock mantis outgrow a 5.5 gallon nano? I know they can get rather large, but I would like the 5.5 to be a species tank, and man they're gorgeous.

Cheers

For sure, I wouldn't go smaller than a 10g to house any mantis. Full grown a peacock needs at least 30g.

many people will keep a lone peacock in a 75G. look in the mantis forum.

i have kept 3 peacock mantis' and you definitely do not want to go less than 24g, and that depends on the peacocks size. there aren't many mantis you can keep in a 5.5g. post in the mantis forum and you can get a lot more help and a more suitable mantis for that size tank, or maybe consider upgrading :)
