Hi I was wondering what would be a best size plumbing for a Eheim 1262 pump.

Would 1" plumbing all the way up through a 1" bulkhead then split by a y to (2) 3/4" bulkheads on the side of the overflow work the best.

Or would 3/4" plumbing all the way up through a 3/4" bulkhead split by a y to (2) 1/2" bulkheads on the overflow.

The tank will be 48x24x20 leemar rimless with a trapezoid overflow I also have a mp40 for the flow.
any help would be great.
Thanks

Use 1" to 2 x 3/4" to get more flow.

cool that was my plan, but a couple of lfs recommend the other way so i just wanted to make sure the 1" was the right way to do it.

The other way will work, but at a reduced flow rate.

next question will a 2" hole work for a 1" sch80 bulkhead since leemar does not have 1 7/8" proper hole size? or should I have the hole drilled for 1 3/4" for sch40.

I'm using a 1262 feeding through 3/4" PVC into 3/4" locline, and then into two 1/2" loclines with spreader tips that are pointed slightly upwards to increase surface agitation.

I know I'm taking a hit with line size and head height, but my refugium is part of the sump and I don't want that much flow through it. I'm using a pair of MP40W-ESs for circulation so the return doesn't really need to do much other than sweep stuff off the surface and into the overflow.
