hello all,
just took some time out to check out my coral today and noticed a few new things going on - was hoping you can help ID from the pictures below.

1. what are these marks on these coral? what does it mean?
2. why are some of my heads not opening?
3 & 4 - what is this ooze on the candy cane coral?

also - after feeding how long do you wait before turning the powerhead back on?

your palys have zoapox, try a freshwater dip
that snot rocket coming off your candycane is how they make new colonies. that goo will encrust and start a new head.

your candycanes look a bit unhealthy, do you feed them?

I think you mean Furan-2. You should be able to get it at pet stores that carry fish. Either big pet stores or small LFS.

just dip the ones with zoapox. i have looked for information regarding zoa pox and the only things ive seen is that it mysteriously appears and can sometimes be difficult to get rid of. I havnt read anything about where it comes from but furan-2 dips and FW dips help.

i would feed your candy canes more if you can. i feed mine whenever i see its feeders out

No that's not pox, it's natural for those bottom polyps. They take in sand and debris into their stalks for defense. and that dot or buldge on the disk is their natural design.

this is what real pox looks like and read for the cure.
