Just ordered this beast. So excited since it is my first really cool and unusual soft NPS coral.

Anyone know anything about it?

I've seen them randomly come in but never tried one. Looking forward to seeing how it does for you :)

I hope it does well. I've never seen anything like it. The color, shape and size (7.5") are what got me. Plus my seahorse will love to hitch on it.

It's hard to tell from the pic since the polyps aren't open but they look pretty big relatively speaking. Curious to see your pics when you get it!

I too am looking forward to seeing it Gordon. Since you are feeding live rotifers now you should be good. I have never seen one but I read they feed much like the Cirrhipathes. If true you will have no problem and I predict the new coral of choice.

I guess I saw the coral listed before you added it to your cart .
I was thinking then ,I hoped someone on here got so we could see it progress.
Congratulations on a very nice coral !
If you ever get to the point of wanting to frag ,I will pay top dollar for one. .:inlove:

Thanks everyone. I can't wait to see it either. And I know of a few people now that probably wouldn't mind a frag. (slapshot...)

It has no skeleton but it is very, surprisingly, rigid and prickly.

Wow thanks! That's quite a complement coming from the man, the myth, the NPS legend- uhuru.

Thanks, as soon as I added the powerhead, it opened up like a flower in minutes. Trust me I don't want it to either. So far, there is no growth on it. I thought that since it's alive, it is harder for algae to grow on it?

In the picture it looks like there is grape algae (sorry not good at the names of all them) growing across the bottom of the stalk and starting to grow on the right side of the rock too. Are you working on a plan to start removing the algae from the aquarium? The added fuel of all the foods we feed can turn that into a nightmare if it isnt strategically controlled.

Yeeeeaaah I've been fighting it. I pull it out all through the week. It is a lot better than it used to be.

Why don't you get a Sea Hare? Once your algae is completely gone, sell/trade the Sea Hare?

I know! As soon as my LFS gets one, I'll grab it and then just bring it back. Like I did with the blue line nudi which ate all the flatworms.
