live sand problem

I woke up this morning with brown algae on my sand and around the glass
at some spots. I added live sand about 8 days ago. I did about a 50% water change over two days
and cleaded my fluval filter; because I had a spike in my nitrate test.
I maught of removed the good bateria in my fluval and my crush coral that I had. Could this be the reason?? My tests where good two days ago.

Hi Tony, seems like your tank is going through a mini cycle from the rapid change of crushed coral to sand. Let it run its course, it is normal and expected.
