So I recently picked up Leo, a 6-7" volitan lionfish, and was wondering what I should be feeding him.

He recently has just settled in and started eating frozen silversides. Should I be preparing the Silversides in any way or soaking them in anything particular? I heard you could feed the Volitans fish from the fish market, any particular kinds? (I heard salmon is good but i don't want pieces of salmon floating throughout my tank as soon as I put a piece in due to it falling apart easily.)

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

IME, salmon is kinda "sticky" and doesn't fall apart very easily. in fact, it's a good food when you need to have small pieces that stay on the sick when feeding smaller fish.

snapper, swordfish, tuna, shrimp, and scallops are all good foods that we feed our crew. small amounts are pretty cheap, and there's always something on sale.

Renee stuffs silversides with pellets, beta glucan, etc.

here's a vid showing how she does it:
