skimmewr sometimes skims, skimmer stops skimming after hands been in tank, other times it works great. over powered with a mag 700. let me know what you think

All skimmers stop working when you get oil in the tank. Weather thats from hands or oily food.

Injection and beckett skimmers just take a little longer to start skimming again. Its normal.



Try getting some rods. Takes my skimmer hours to start skimming after I use even a small amount of it.

I have an EV-180. Make sure you remove and clean your air valve about once a month. They slowly clog with a salt plug and performance will suffer.

I had an EV120 with a Mag 7 also.

It too would stop skimming for quite a while if you fed the tank anything at all, touched the water, or looked at it funny. It is indeed normal for an injection skimmer ... but it bugged me. I'd never own one again, for that reason and also the heat thrown off by the mag drive pump.
