Is your laptop set to use DHCP?

Don't connect the two directly. Connect the laptop to your home network as you normally would using wired or wireless. Then, connect the WGA to an available port on your router using an Ethernet cable. After the WGA is configured, you'll then put the WGA in the location it needs to be, and connected to your controller via wire and to your home network wirelessly.

I finally got it istalled. The fix was istalling it on my wifes laptop, which has windows 7. My laptop has Windows Vista, which is crap.
