I was fixing my saltwater mixer yesterday and I forgot to turn off the valve that feed the tank for water changes and leave the mixer over night filling with new r/o water and this morning my wife came after work and found the sump overflowing, my salt went from 1.025 to 1.015 now I'm working getting it right some if the sps are showing sing of rtn. so sad I feel so frustrated

that sucks, hope your tank bounces back quickly!

ive had that happen to me several times with my topoff, just manually filling my sump and turning a valve when its full, only to walk away and forget it till my whole topoff reservoir empties out.

thankfully i dont do that anymore lol.

hi sorry to hear.
your tank is in shock
i am not sure that the best way is to get is fast to normal salinity.

i wod do that in 2-3 steps (in order to prevent a biger shock)

good luck

I feel your pain. Had the same exact thing happen with my LMIII Friday night. Woke up at 4am to find a flood in my dining room and was topping off with lime water. Long story short I lost half my fish, most of the 19 SPS frags I just picked up Friday, and a 1/4 of my coral I already had in tank. Luckily it looks like some might pull through as I made a 40 gallon water change immediately and did about ~20 gallons today. Good luck and keep bring that salinity up:)

yep had it happen to me twice, you will recover I made a small chalk board because anytime I turn on fresh water into the tank I write it down so I dont forget.
