Since there isn't a subject within the frogspawn, I would say you should change your aperture setting to get the whole frogspawn in focus.

as well as more exposure, its a lil dark. But a good shot for you first time trying with raw format.

It looks like you got the white balance correct which is the main reason I like shooting corals in RAW mode :)

My friend and I often debate this point from a composition perspective. I actually like a little bit of the subject out of focus because IMO it makes it look a little more 3D. My buddy agrees with you though and wants to see the entire subject in focus.

thanks for the comments! I was just kind of excited to get a nice result this easily, and processing the RAW was much easier than I thought it would be...
