My LFS got in a little wartskin angler that I just love. He's the coolest fish I've seen in a long time. So, as with most of you who see something new but have no where to put it, I'm thinking of setting up another tank for one or two anglers.

Let's see your's so I can get some ideas!

Please post a shot of the whole tank, and one up close of your angler.

IMHO, two anglers will eventually become ONE very fat angler.

as for pix:

So are yours in separate tanks? What size tanks? What's in the tanks?

I'm just looking to do something simple. I mean, I saw this little guy at the LFS and would like a tank for him. Nothing special, not looking to spend too much money. Plus he eats frozen already!

all separate tanx (i firmly believe that anglers should be in species/single specimen setups), just LR, #3 aragonite substrate, and live macro + a snail CUC. you could keep a warty easily in a 20-25 gal.

My advice is to do it. I did exactly that and don't regret it at all. I don't have any pictures though, but the tank he's in isn't anything crazy. The live rock is set up with a few different caves that he spends time in and has some mushrooms, zoas, and GSP growing on it.

Life would be easier if he were eating frozen already. I say go for it. Despite all the cool stuff in my tank, the frogfish gets the most ooohs and ahhhhs from non-reefers (once they figure out its a fish they are looking at).

im curious if we could get some tank sizes and tank mates from the people who own anglers. pictures are nice but they dont explain everything.

Be careful with tank mates. Anglers can eat surprisingly large fish. Also angels and triggers tend to graze your angler and harm it.
