Lots of people have clown triggers, mainly in FOWLRs. Just look through this forum to see examples.

Well i'm still planning it, I just wanted to know if people have been able to and what tank buddies were used...

Those little 1" CT need a lot of frequent feedings and grow wuovk! They won't be aggressive at that side but have the potential to grow up to be monsters. For tankmates, angels, puffers, eels, tangs, possibly other triggers, wrasses, etc etc. The list goes on,your probably better off telling us What fish you like and we can critique it. What size tank? Filtration?

I kept a 1" baby Clown Trigger in my 29 gallon Reef for almost a year. I had Brains/SPS in this tank with no problems. Except for a Mandarin, he was the only fish in the tank.

Well I have seen people's tanks and they have everything from Ocellaris Clowns to Damsels, Baggai Cardinals ect. I was thinking for my tank which is a 50 Gallon With Marineland HOB Filter, 4 Powerheads protein skimmer ect, I wanted 1. a Flame Angel 2. Flame Hawkfish 3. Baggai Cardinal 4. Clown trigger (Not necessairly a Clown trigger can be any of the many Humu Humu, Picasso ect) I would even consider trading one of the above for a puffer.

I have a 2" Velvet Damsel Already. And I think that would be it. I don't Think I have over stocked.. I have A Scopas Tang But he has outgrown my tank. So that won't be a problem.

What do you think? Will I have problems? I wanted a reef but i don't think this will be a reef safe group so I will stick to FOWLR.

Will a Eel be fine in a 50gal? I hear they grow huge!

if you wanted an eel you couldnt have the cardinal and even with a trigger the cardinal has a good chance of getting killed because they are slow swimmers

So the people that have the Cardinals with Triggers are pushing their luck? So eels can be with which fish?

this is NOT exactly a RULE, but it gives a decent example or guide ...

I know that but under the eels subcategory it might not be the same thats just an overall statement..

generally it is the same for each. ive seen eels go after triggers. My friend had his snowflake eel try and swallow his trigger and he had to pry it out of its mouth

That's crazy, well that being said is it just luck if you want to have one with an eel? How big was your friends Eel & Trigger

samdaman

how big where both of them? Does it just depend on the eels attitude?

Im kind of getting of topic hehe, Ok Its a 50 gallon tank. I want to add a baby trigger. What are ideal buddies, people tell me that I will do ok in a community tank if I just add him small, but Im not sure...

usually they r good with puffers, tangs, foxface, wrasse, angels, eels ect. you have to research what are right for your tank.
