I am looking to buy a cup monti although I like the red ones which seem to be cheaper , I really like the blue one . are the different colors harder to take care of or are they preatty much the same ? any special care needs i need to look for besides calcium intake ?

Hey bud montiporas like the same conditions as pretty much all sps corals very clean water lots of light and good water flow low phosphates and nitrates a dkh of between 8-12 and a calcium level of 380 or better. I keep my mostly sps tank at about
sg 1.026
Ph 8.2
dkh 9
calc 460-480
phos not detectible on my test kit
nitrate not detectible on my test kit
but more important than perfect levels they like consistency I have seen them do well under fluorescent or halide lighting. If you have any other hard corals or sps corals and they are healthy then a monti shouldn't give you any prob. If you like I have three types of Capricornis and a confusa. I have some smaller cheap monti frags and a whole bunch of other sps corals a few zoa's and shrooms. send me a pm if your interested I got a ton of stuff.
