View Full Version : CO2 tank draining?

This may be a stupid question, but is there supposed to be an O-ring on the CO2 tank as well as the regulator? Or am I over tightening the regulator?

I drained my 20# tank is less than a month and just drained it again in 2 days. I never heard a leak from the tank. I figured w/ that much pressure I could hear it if it was leaking.

When I had the the 20# tank refilled I got a 5# as a backup. When I hook the regulator up to that I do hear it leaking. So what the heck am I doing wrong???

Don't know exactly what your tank valve looks like but mine has a little white Teflon disk that fits in before you screw on regulator so it should be the same. You can get them probably at the place that filled your tank or a local welding supply in your area.

use some soapy water to find the leak.

Anyone else have any ideas? Or agree with ebonline?

+1 with ebonline.....you need a white teflon disk between the regulator and the shutoff valve to create the seal. It is a must.
