I am planning my next tank which will be cadlights artisan 24x24x20 cube.
I am debating which powerhead I should get.
The tank will be the mix LPS, SPS, and zoas.
I like the MP because of the small size and no wires going into the tank.
But I heard they produce noise which I hate.
I will put two of them in the back of the the back.
Are two mp10 will enough for the tank like this size?
Mp40 is too big for my taste.
what kind of noise I will hear if I put mp10 in the back of the tank?

I know tunze is silent compare to mp10 or mp40.
I will get Apex controller later so maybe I should consider two 6055.

another question: are mp40 and mp10 will link up together like slave model?

thanks

From the sounds of your arguments, you only have 1 choice and that's Tunze. With 2 MP10s you'd have to ramp them up to 100% to get enough flow, therefore producing more noise. You could go with 2 MP40s and have them at 50% which is a whole lot quieter than when they're at 100%. Or you can go Tunze's which are silent. If noise is an issue, go Tunze.

can I use one mp10 and mp40, and link them together as slave model.
and each one runs ar 50%?

I have the mp10 on my 40 breeder, and it is very quiet. I can't hear it unless I crank up the output to close to 100%. Anyhow, it produces more than enough flow for my tank, which has a lot of SPS in it. I normally run it on lagoon mode at around 50%. That is a very powerful little pump.

That said, Tunze is quality gear. I run the 6025 powerhead and 9010 skimmer. Both have made me fans of the brand. I haven't played with the programable units though and can't compare. Some folks on here have used both and compared them in other threads (differences in program modes, flow patterns, etc.).

Sounds like you want a lot of flow in that little tank. Good luck!

If you don't mind wires hanging out of the tank, Tunze 100%. IMO wires in a rimless tank are a no go. Two MP10s should be fine in a tank that size but really it depends on your aquascape.

The MP10 isn't silent, but it's really only noticeable if you're running in a short pulse mode where it ramps way up and then way down. HTH.

Heck, I have 2 MP10's on my 75, and they are working great. (( might get another one one day )) I have some SPS, some LPS and 2 Haddonis -- needed to keep the flow low enough for the Haddonis to be happy, but enough flow for the SPS to be happy, think I have found the right combo.
