Ok these stats have been floating around in my head for a while so may be a little off but
If when a pistol shrimp clicks, it is the loudest sound in nature 280db from 4" away, and the collapsing bubble happens so fast (1 millisecond), that it creates light hotter than the sun, why doesn't it kill it's partner or anything else in the tank? I'd have thought the shock wave would be enough to really mess with anything nearby or give it a serious headache. So does anyone know, can they dial it down a bit? or is this from different unpartnered shrimps? or just another answer?
