I have been going crazy trying to figure out why my corals are not doing well. Yesterday we figured out my Alk is at 3.75 Calcium is at 400 and all other levels are perfect. PH is at 8.3. What is the best way to get the Alk level to drop? some have said just add calcium not kalk others have said go a water change and others have said just let it come down naturally. The tank is a 180and I did a 50 gallon change 2 weeks ago.

Thanks
Marty

alk will come down naturally, or can do a water change. question is, ifyou feel this is too high, how is it getting up there? overdosing?

what he said ^

also check your sat mix to see the KH of newly made water.

3.75ml is 10.5dkh which should not be a problem in most systems. I'd let it drop on it's own and/or switch to salt mix with lower alk.
