I talked to Curt at Neptune about dimming VHO's with the Apex...here is his reply:

I'm not aware of any ballasts that have 0-10V dimming ports and also work with VHO bulbs. Icecap has the 660 but its dimming performance is very poor. If you want dimming, you need to use T5 ballasts (with a 0-10V compatible interface) or a LED light system with a 0-10V interface.

I've heard of the Sylvania QT2X54 T5 being used.....anybody have any other ideas on dimming? I'm not particular whether it's VHO or T5

Advance/Phillips also makes a dimmable T5 ballast called the Mark 7 RZT-2S54 that is compatible with the Apex and supports the same bulbs as the Sylvania. The specifications can be found here:

Thanks.....I think I found a 4-light dimmable 0-10V T5 ballast....$79.....still checking the specs.

Well, that was interesting....called the company to find out more about this ballast....it is listed on their website with the model number, picture, price, etc.
http://www.ballastwise.com/item.asp?PID=155&FID=20&level=1

The guy says "oh, we don't have those yet...it's a future product".....so I said "you mean you have this on your website with a model/pic/price but you don't have the product?".....reply "Yes....it is what it is"

Amazing....

Oh well, good for a laugh anyway.
