I'm trying to find this out also. I have been looking at Deltec Internal Protein Skimmer SC2060 and Royal Exclusiv Alpha 300 Cone Protein Skimmer. Going to tag along. Want to see what people say.

Same. Great skimmer. Got it back in November, no problems.

I've been very happy with my Bermuda Aquatics 5C. Its an awesome skimmer for that size tank and I think its very affordable.

Not big enough imo to me ASM skimmers are ok but not great

Skimmers have come a long way. There are a lot of good options for that size tank. Here is a link to a review on the SWC Cone 250 1A.

Don't take this wrong, but can someone define what's great?

I would stay away from the alpha 300 the transistion on that cone has issues.

my best option if money is no object, BK supermarine 250, I run one and it works great on my 300

I tried the 5000 cone, another great option and much easier on the wallet.

ASM G5 on my 250, 300total volume. I have had it running for over 3 years...works great, but the collection cup can be hard to remove @times, and the materials used on the cup are not that great. I have had to repair a few cracks after dropping it during cleaning.
For the price its a solid skimmer. A G4 is too small for a 300G IMO. If price is less of an issue, the bubble king supermarin or Alpha 300 Cone ...they have a much more robust build quality, are much quieter, and use less energy. I will eventually replace my G5 with one of these. I have a friend that has the Alpha 300, its silent....does it skim better than my G5...probably not.....I think its worth the added cost for silence and efficiency.
