Do all corals need to encrust before they start growing upward? Well I know not because I have some frags that haven't encrusted at all and are growing branches. I have some birdsnests that haven't encrusted a lick but are branching and splitting. I also have acros that are doing the same. What causes the difference in some frags encrusting for months on end and then these that just take off like a rocket. Thanks.
