I'm thinking about getting one for my 30 gallon reef. Any thought or suggestions about it?

Save your money and get something else, not a very efficient skimmer even if you get it adjusted right

I'm looking for something to hang on the back of my 30 gallon. Is there any other skimmers that could do this?

Ive had one. The worst skimmer ive owned. A seaclown is better. Like said before, save your money and get somthing else.

Seaclone is mildly better (owned one as well), still disappointing as it needed constant attention to skim well.

I hear good things about the Eshopps hang-on models. deltec and octopus too, but those are more pricey.

I currently have a 28 gallon JBJ reef setup. I have been using the Aqua Remora C HOB skimmer for close to 2 yrs now and it has performed beautyfully. Skimmer is using a 1200 Maxijet pump to run it. Will need to maintenace the pump (through cleaning about every 4-6 months to keep it performing at peak capacity) learned that tid-bit the hard way when it stopped producing skimmate. Once I cleaned it bam, back to performing as usual. Hope this helps you out......:jester:

It does help out. I had a remora in the past but I bought it old. I think the pump I had on it was which caused it to perform poor. New ones like yours goes for around $225 right?

Take the money you would have spend on the Prizm, give it to a buddy and have him kick you in the *@&^!s five or six times. It will be money better spent.

Budgetary wise I'm willing to spend whatever I need that's going to skim my tank well. In this case, many of you seem in favor of the Remora hang-on so I'll probably get one of those. I mean, it's only for a 30 gallon tank...nothing to crazy.

Have you looked into the Warner Marine H1 or AquaMaxx H1 for 200 bucks.

Owned one, gave it away. It was garbage.
