I have a milepora who seems to be dieing. The piece is a large colony maybe about 6" wide and 6" tall. Always been very very healthy. Currently the base and about 1-2" up from the base all the polyps have died and its just white rock. Although the rest above it is in full colour and the polyps are all out open and look like a healthy specimen. What is causing it to die from teh bottom up.

Water parems haven't changed. trie and ammo 0. Nitrate undetected maybe a trace but very close to 0. Temp is 79 and salinity is 0.125.

Thanks

Could you post more details about your setup?

Complete water parameters (and what you used to test for them)?

Pictures?

How are you testing you SG?

sounds like STN

check your KH, calcium and mg.,
Kalium too maybe, but after you test the first 3

also the flow,

when my colonies got bigger, my corals at the back got less flow and some of them lost polyp on the base. so make sure enough flow throuhg the coral/

Slow Tissue Necrosis - Basically means something is off in your tank and is causing the coral to die. What are your parameters? Have you had any swings lately?
