Pylei Wrasse. Word on the board is they are mean and will kill other wrasses, I added mine last and he got along great with the other wrasses for a few months before I broke down that tank.

I believe you mean Pseudocheilinus tetrataenia. ;)

If I had to choose just one wrasse, it would have to be the choati leopard wrasse (macropharyngodon choati).

Possum wrasses are extra awesome. Too bad they're so cryptic. I only saw mine at feeding time. Jumped through a tiny hole. Very punchy little critter.

Mystery wrasse is my favorite. I like the colors on their head the best. I like the McCosker's flasher wrasse too, but I have only seen pictures of one, never in person.

Really? Mine used to come out all the time, he was always swimming around picking at stuff.
Too bad I lost him in my tank crash. :(
I need another one.

Pink streaked wrasse (aka cryptic sixline).

Nice. One of my favorites too. Mine stays out in the open. Love the little guys. I also had a Possum for one day. It disappeared the day after I placed it in the tank. My list of favorite wrasses is endless. I love them all. Each has its own appeal.

Any of the Leopard wrasses are nice. Especially the M. kuiteri and M. cyanoguttatus. But I've yet to own any, so... they'll always come second to the Australian Harlequin Tuskfish.

Here's the only nice pic I could find online for the M. cyanoguttatus. Seen one of these in the early 1990's in a Chicago store.

I didn't think much of flame wrasses, until I got some. They are now my favorite, due to their personalities, hardiness, non-nervous behavior, and of course, COLOR!

My absolute favorite is the Pearly Weed Wrasse or Xenojulis margaritacea. I found one at an *insert chain pet store here* and after watching her for a couple of weeks, had to have her. After having her for about 3-4 months she underwent the change to male. Unfortunately I never got a good picture of the male and lost him in a recent tank move gone bad: ich, broken beak, etc. Finding another is going to be tough but I'm already working on it.

Female:

Male(still brightening):

I'm a fan of the Pyle's Fairy as well. My understanding of their aggression is that it's targeted towards other males of similar color. I guess we'll see what happens when I add a trio of Pyle's with my preexisting Lubbock's.

Same here. Got a whole tank devoted to flame wrasses. How many females you have there Peter? Having a harem is great.
I also have a soft spot for rhomboid, too.

I started with one large male, and three small females. I now have two large males, and two pretty big females.
