What size is your new tank?
I have a Reef Octopus BH100F on my 55 gallon and it does great. Seems the opinion to go with a Reef Octopus 300 for anything bigger than a 55.
That's all I have experience with, but it works great.

I'm thinking about adding an Eshopps PSK-75H or PSK-100H to my tank. I've heard good things about them, and for $150 or so on drsfostersmith.com, it's a good deal.
Now all I have to do is sell my old skimmer to my unsuspecting friend for the same price.

Octopus makes great HOB skimmers, but they'll run $150+
For $50, I'd buy a bucket of salt and get ready for lots of water changes.

Good luck!

Sorry to intrude on the post but TryK, how much are you looking for that remora, and is it good condition? I'm in Beachwood, Ohio.

You never answered what size the tank is, but even on craigslist there aren't many options. CPR bakpak or a remora I guess, avoid seaclones and prizms. A used tunze would be nice, but even used will probably run at least $75.

Deltec MCE 600 or maybe the ATB Multi Use.
If $50 is your budget, you'd be better of upping your water change schedule and saving your money.
