It's been a long time since I've updated, and for good reason. I hate to admit it, but I've neglected my tank for the past 2 months (e.g. few water changes). Hopefully you guys can make suggestions to help me on the right track again. I preformed a 3 gallon water change on Sunday and intense scrubbing twice this week.

I definitely have bubble algae (got an emerald crab to help that) and some kind of deep reddish algae.

These are pics of my AC110 (fuge). Maybe it's because of the light i'm using over it, but I'm getting bad algae in there too.

Ive worked in a fish store for over a year, and when there was an algae problem we used something called "Phosphate Control"by Blue Life(the giant coral section tended to have a bubble/hair algae problem) follow the directions for daily use and you will see some really impressive results. Also cutting back on light hours is helpful, thats what I would do on my tanks along with phosphate control. Dont forget to pick the algae out of the tank that helps too.

depite 0 readings you still have a phosphate and nitrate issue, your fuge is way to samll to handle your biolode.

water changes are not a boig deal Unless its your only nitrate/phos removal method.

look into a GFO reactor or a bigger fuge or what i reccomend "both"

thanks outy.

I'm thinking of upgrading my fuge to a real fuge. a 5.5 gallon sump under the tank.

Excess nutrients and light is what fuels algae growth. Cut back on your feedings and your light cycle. Start doing weekly water changes. Adding some type of phosphate media would be great too.
