Anybody ever tried housing these 2 together? If not what other angel have you kept safely with a regal angel?

Passers can be very aggressive, I recommend looking at other alternatives.

Passers were the most returned angel at the LFS I worked at so many years ago, due to aggression.

How big of a tank? I've never owned angels but was wondering if a big enough tank would make it more likely to work?

I ask (and not to steal the thread) because I'm thinking of doing a fish only for now in my 8'x30"x30" until we buy a house. If I do this, I might have some tangs, angels, triggers etc. I'm unsure.

How big is your tank and what else is in there? Regals take a long time to fully acclimate and he shouldn't have any additional stress until he has been there a while. I feel a little different about combining Angels than I used to. A big tank (maybe a 240?) and proper timing (IMO) makes most combinations possible. If the Regal is grown , fully acclimated & eating well, and you have a big tank; most JUVI Angels would probably work. A Passer wouldn't be 1st on my list, but if all the right conditions are there---I think it could work. There are no "sure things" in this area, though. If my tanks were't about full and I could get a Red Sea Regal, I'd probably do it.

it does largely depend on the size of your aquarium and how you introduce the new angel to the tank.

i have a 5000 litre aquarium and i have many angels such as French, queen, blue face, majestic ,regal , potters , venustus, flame with little aggression but as stated how you introduce and size of aquarium determines what will happen

On second thoughts i think keeping a Regal angel and Passer angel together is not a good idea, the Passer is very aggressive and the lines on the regal angel's body are similar to the one line that the passer's have , i do believe it will end badly for the regal

You can consider a Goldflake, Flagfin, Blueline, Meredithi, Majestic, Bandit or any of the Genecanthus angels.

I don't think its a good idea, long term. However if the regal was a large adult 6-8" and the passer was a small juvi say 1-2" I think it would be fine. Eventually the passer will get big and own the tank, probably killing the regal. My brother had a 3-4" passer that wasn't aggressive and my 6-7" passer was, definitely comes with age.
