Hey all!
So this week i found some weird looking creatures in my tank.
I found some slugs(?) they are about 1-2mm long, and it's green, with red tiny dot on it, and it moves sometimes when something is passing by.
does anyone have a guess what could it be? is it harmful/useful?
I also found sone snail looking white things all over my tank. it grows in a specific area on the LR, and a lot of them are also on the glass. it's white and about 1mm big i'm not sure if it's move but most of them are growing in a circular way. what is it?
And last thing, my peppermint shrimp is pregnant! i found a large amount of green eggs that one of my peppermints carries. should i do anything special? i don't think that something in my tank would eat the babies(don't have any fish yet) and what can i do with the babies assuming they would hatch?
I'll try to upload some pics.
thanks,
Roy.

Not sure about the slugs w/o pics, but a few people have had pep shrimp breed successfully. They will carry eggs even if they aren't viable, so no guarantees that anything will happen at all. Maybe someone will chime in, but I think it is one of those things like snails breeding where it is either successful or not regardless of what you 'do'.

Thanks! I'll upload pictures tonight and hopefully someone would be able to tell what is it.

That is not the urchin typically sold as pincushion, maybe someone has a species id for you. The 'slugs' are a flatworm--the kind that can become overpopulated pretty badly. You may want to invest in a six-line wrasse or something similar to take care of them.

Dang, ya beat me to it. I had to get a link though. That's my story and I am sticking to it. That and I am on an iPad. So in virtual time I beat ya to it.

Thanks for the id's..
Any guesses about the urchin? I have only a 10G reef tank and I don't have any fish yet but I don't know if I can provide a good enough enviornment for the six-line wrasse.. Any other solutions for the flat worms?
Thanks again,
Roy.

There is a product called flatworm exit that will do the trick. You will want to siphon out as many as you can first so the die off doesn't cause any problems. I am not into poisoning, but it might be good in this case. Not sure if it is invert safe, maybe someone will chime in, or do some searches on "flatwom exit' or FWE.
