Anyone know the best way to go about moving a tank? It will be in the same house on the same floor. How should I move it? Do I have to take out all the rock?

all water and all rock out. If there is not too much sand (SHB) you can leave it in. Drain the tank, put the water in a brute trashcan or other suitable container. Ditto with the rocks and livestock.
Have fun!

Very simple. It may take most of your day.
First drain water in rubbermaid storage tubs. This will be where you'll house some fish. You may need a couple depending on the size of tubs/fish. Remember to place some live rock in each tub so the fish don't feel as vulnerable as well as help process any waste the fish give off while they are in there. A heater is a good idea also. Then the tubs won't cool off. They will cool and pretty quickly otherwise. Also have a tub or a few for your corals. Try to keep mean/offending corals away from others. Drain some more water in from your tank into the tubs to place your rock in. Keep powerheads in each tub with rock/livestock in it to circulate the water. The water can get stagnate pretty fast. If the tank has been set up for a while, I would get rid of almost all the sand and start with new sand seeded by some of the old. When the tank is pretty much empty, move it. Then put everything back in.
Any questions?

My first question is how big of tank are we talking about. I would deff do as others have said though and remove as much as possible into tubs though.
