Not concerned with times but more in hours of main light a day. I have read some say no more than 8 hours others say 10 is just fine. What is the general thought here?

BTW I have act that come on first then main whites an hour so so later for 8 hrs. Whits go off blues stay on for a hour or 2 more then all those off and moons on.

Thanks

Craig

IMO, your light cycle is okay the way you have it set up now. If you start having algae problems, you can cut it back a bit.

So let the alge tell me I have too much light? Could I go to 10 hrs of day light or is that a bit much in general?

10 hours might be a bit much, IMO. I look at it this way; In nature, one area is not going to get 10 straight hours of full-on intense sunlight. I'd stick with 8 hours. I'm sure there are a lot of people who use a longer cycle, but this is how I look at it. I'm sure you'll get more opinions on this.
