I plan to convert my flatworm infested reef tank into a fish only tank. If I cut the lighting to minimum for extended period to such as just a 5w bulb so the fish can feed. Would it be possible to reduce the population greatly?

i don't lighting effects planaria at all. I think the sudden swing of no lights would throw off your bio-balance and that they would just make the reproduce even more (mine use to thrive off crappy tank conditions it seemed). get your tank real clean, cut feedings to a minimum and get a cleaner wrasse.

Lighting wont effect it, but a 6-line wrasse will devastate the population. IME

I had a really bad infestation about three to four months ago.I did alot of research and finally went with a yellow wrasse.I haven't seen a FW in at least a month and a half now.The key for me was to feed after the wrasse buried himself in the sand bed.he apparently got really hungry and found his own food source. Now I feed him with the rest of the fish.
