My M. Meleagris is ver peaceful, just make sure you have a very tight fitting lid for any wrasse.

which is a better choice?
are they very peaceful? do they swim very fast?

Learned that the hard way just last week.

Id vote for a Possum Wrasse, or any number of smaller Fairies.

+1 to possum wrasse or pink-streaked wrasse, they are about a peaceful as reef fish go.

Just got a McCoskers Flasher last week and LOVE him! He is like a little hummingbird hovering around the rocks. Very peaceful and no issues at all with my other fish, which are two percs, two firefish and a pinkbar goby. I highly recommend it.

+1 on the pink streaked wrasse. They look like pink 6 lines, but are not aggressive.

+1 Though once it starts flashing it will swim quickly up and down the tank to show off. There are a couple cool videos on youtube of McCosker's showing off.

I had a McCoskers that was very timid in my tank. He, and every other wrasse I've seen, cruise along pretty fast but never caused an issue in my tank.
