OK everybody lets here all the opinions on this. I have seen beautiful aquariums that have coralline encrusted glass and clean as a whistle. I have coralline encrusted but really like how the coral looks against a clean background. What are the pros and cons for both? Is there any benefit of not cleaning the back glass or letting it be? You tell me.

I scrape. Not scraping makes the tank look less 3D. It almost merges the coralline covered rocks with the coralline back glass. Too me it screws with your depth perception.

I'd like to scrape, but my returns are the ones filled with coralline. Anyone have suggestions on how to scrape the returns?

I have a tuxedo urchin that likes coralline algae, so I don't scrape the back glass. If it's possible to temporarily remove the returns, a good vinegar soak would help with the cleaning.

Scrape, then give to me :) My harlequin isn't eating these stupid asterinas fast enough, so I still don't have coraline

I am a scraper, a clean glass tank just looks more impressive to me.

This...

It is not too hard to maintain once you get it cleared the first time.

Thanks everyone! I have decided to scrape it off and give it a try. I'm letting the 10 year development die.
