my friend just got a 37 gallon tank, i believe that's right. her lights that she got are Zoo Med T-5 HO Coral Sun Actinic 420 Fluorescent Bulb. Just one bulb.

Any idea on if this is sufficient enough to grow corals? what kinds? can it grow a monti cap?

no SPS

only softies

Id trade that bulb in for a KZ new Gen, which is at 14K nice color and good par reading, or any ATI blue plus bulbs or if u cant get none then a rewgular reef light (10-20K)

the actinic alone is next to no lighting.

so u just have to switch bulbs?

will this help or still be the same as far as what she can grow?

even if you change the bulb to a sun or daylight bulb I would only stick with softies and zoas.

even if you had an sps survive you probably would not be happy w/ the color & growth. softies, zoas and polyps

It should grow fish, fake plants/corals and algae just fine.
