View Full Version : Medusa Worm scared the hell out of me!

I am posting this in the SPS forum because I have a SPS dominated tank. This evening I changed out my filter sock because it was clogged and overflowing. When I pulled out the in-sump tubing, a long worm like a baby snake was on the lip of my filter sock and it was black but I did see the tentacles coming out of his mouth. I went up front to get my flash light but when I returned it was gone so it must have moved back into the tubing. It had to have been at least 12" stretched out. How could a worm go over the overflows into my sump. I was taking my bag out expecting to salvage some pods to put back into my tank. That shook me up....for a quick second:spin2:

lol, eek.. you stocked one in your tank? my friend had one that got inquisitive with a powerhead and got chopped up...lost most of his coral.. worth covering the powerheads

I thought the Medusa Worm needed a deed sand? It's a scavenger correct

its not a medusa it was a Eunice worm
