Any one run LED's on a LPS tank for a longer period of time? I know there has been threads about SPS losing color, has the same thing been noticed on LPS?
I have been running a Solaris i5 over my tank. Im very happy with the unit and can't say there has been any drastic color loss. Perhaps some on a few pieces. Some have actually gotten much nicer deeper colors as of late. Mainly the Acans and Blastos.

I was running Halides for about 3 months, and am now running LED's going on 4 months. The colors on my Acans are as good as the day I bought them, same goes for my favia and zoa's.

I've been running LPS under my custom LEDs for about a year. I've actually tested how much light is required to tick them off.
No problems really, but some species like Cany Canes which really don't like a lot of PAR will toss some of their brightly colored pigments if they're getting fried. Acans have been doing fine, and sitting under the same intensity as my monti caps. I've steadily increased the LEDs on my 10gal to over 50watts watts, and that's a lot. Like anything else, moving corals suddenely from under 18watts of PC to a state of the art LED fixture is asking for grief.
Also, LPS typically respond to intense light by staying shriveling up, and then tossing symbiotic algae slowly to adjust so they can stay inflated. SPS can't do this.
The only thing I've found that hates LED is coraline.

Lol coraline growth seems to be a bit worse on LEDs from what vie seen too. Also some chalices require longer acclimation times or they can bleach. Other than that LEDs are great for Lps tanks and you don't require as many LEDs as you would for a spas tank so cheeper startup and lower energy costs = a + in my book
