i have a yellow tang, 3 chromis, royal gramma, YWG, sixline wrasse, and a lawnmower blenny in my 75. i also have a few softies, SPS, zoas, and LPS awaiting their new home in a 33 reef im setting up. i currently am feeding DIY fish food from the LFS, it is an omnivore feed but im starting to think its not working for my fish. i also bought some cyclop-eeze to try but im not sure if my fish enjoy it, some will eat it some will spit it out. i want to know what people suggest to feed my fish in the 75 (it will soon be a FOWLR) and the fish and corals in the soon-to-be-set-up 33g Reef. i have no idea so im open to all options, im heading to a very good LFS this thursday so if i know before then, i can have them order it so my fish will be happy. thanks for the help i really appreciate it and i know the corals and fish do too!

PE mysis and Nutramar Ova prawn roe for fish and lps. You can soak in vitamins or garlic. Watch out with the vitamins, that can add a massive amount of nutrients and cause cyano outbreaks in my experience. I'm sure it varies from brand to brand and how you rinse, etc.

sps I'm not so sure. maybe rotifers?

I feed pe mysis once every 2 days along with cyclops. A sheet of nori once a week. And new life spectrum Thera A everytime I walk past the tank. My tank is a 75 mixed reef with a small mimic tang, pair of chromis, bicolor blenny, and a black occilaris clown.

small alien- i have PE mysis but i havent been feeding it lately, ill look at the nutrients and see if i need to get some garlic or something. ill check out the ova prawn roe.

R Hudson- maybe my fish need to get used to it but the didnt like the cyclop-eeze that much, im assuming that is what you use? i just bought some of the gel stuff. do you squeeze yours out into chunks? im think about pre-mixing it just cuase lol. i feed about a 2-3inch strip of nori every other day if i remember to feed the nori. i cant find "new life spectrum Thera A" on fosterandsmithaquatics, who makes it?

The cyclops is made by h2o life and it is mainly for corals. It comes in frozen cubes. I buy it from the lfs. Check out nlsfishfood.com for the Thera A. Definately one of the best pellets out there but I also get it from the lfs

do you use the .5 mm sinking or what one?

Currently 2mm sinking. It's a little big for my chromis but they grab a pellet and shake it kinda like what a dog does to a sock. Really kinda humorous. Once this tub is gone I will go back to the smaller. For what it's worth I have had the pickiest of eaters eat Thera A.

ok so ill see if i can get Thera A from my LFS. what do people suggest for feeding a mixed reef? i was originally gonna do mainly SPS but ive come in love with some LPS and some insane zoas. is there a good mix food that will work? im not too good with spot feeding.

I have a 75g SPS dominated reef with a tailspot blennie, 2 firefish, percula, banggai and a royal gramma. I feed the tank mysis, NLS pellets, baby brine, rotifers, Oysterfeast, DT's reef blend (for the clam, oyster and gorgonians) and cyclops. LPS (acans, fungia, duncans and dendros) are target fed mysis shrimp about 3 times per week.

Use the cyclops for coral food you can also ask your lfs they can recommend a frozen coral food. There are probably 50 different types of coral food. I would stay away from phytoplankton unless you have a clam. There is really no right or wrong way to feed as long as your fish are eating at least every couple days and not feeding more than they can eat in a couple minutes. And generally your corals will pick things out of the water column as they float by.

ive been recommended coral frenzy for coral food and it is available locally without ordering. a local reefer buddy gave me a reciepe he uses for his fish and its very cheap so i might try it. thanks
