Hi Blueline Angelfish owners,
Just wondering if anyone has pics of the Juvi Blueline you might own. I just purchased one and will try and pair up with my larger one. I will receive tomorrow afternoon, bought from LA, will post some pics then.
I have never seen pictures till I looked up online and they are just beautiful looking and had to pull the trigger on it. Lucky I was up late last night browsing LA as I don't think that they posted it in the collectors corner till then.

I saw that LA had those for a few hours and have seen some juvies offered at other online outlets lately. LA had a good price on those and they always have nice fish, would love to see what they looked like. The pic you posted is of an older juvie, the small ones I have seen are nearly all black with yellow markings and look a lot like the poma, meredithi, and other juvies in the genus. Good luck on getting them to pair up, this is a great species.

We need to see some pics of these! :)
BTW they were back in stock for a few more hours this morning, seems like there are a bunch coming in now. How hardy are the juvies? $200 is a lot to pay for a tiny fish it might seem worth it to me to spend more on a large fish.

It's hard to put a price on some juvies especially when some adapt better small and such as a small Regal which cost more then the adult. Another example of a beautiful juv stage angel is the Holacanthus africanus.
I recently purchased a 2" Goldflake and it was a lot of work and worry on keeping it alive. As much as I've said not going to get another 2" angel deep down it was rewarding.

Very sorry to hear that, I was hoping we could share experiences with these. I hope they come soon, that is weird that they over sold these or what?
Funny thing is that I logged in early this morning and another one became available so I purchased, now I just don't know if I will get it if you guys are not able to receive.
Please let me know when and if received from LA

Glad to hear you are getting one, where and how do you check real time inventory? Is this from LA or Blue Zoo you bought from?
The 2nd one I had purchased and was assured I would receive Friday from LA just got cancelled due to delay of some sort. Kinda bummed but was skeptical after hearing of the issues others were delayed and then posted again as available.
I am right down the street from Blue Zoo and may just drive over their Friday and get 2nd one.

Brian--to insure that I'll be getting a juv (1.5-2") BL I placed a order with BZ. Also sending you a PM.
If LA's order comes through I'll have 2 juvs.

I am right down the street from Blue Zoo and may just drive over their Friday and get 2nd one.
If you decide to buy one there see to it you get a bottle of the BZ Mix (flakes and pellets) which comes in 4oz or 8oz. I had a bottle for a while and didn't think much of it till I got a 2" Goldflake from them which only ate that food the first couple of weeks till I mixed in other food. I think the size of the flakes and pellets is just right for a small fish. I'm getting a bottle with this order.
If you see Mark or Chris please ask them to ship one that's eating to Kevin in NJ, it's scheduled to ship on Monday. :)

Thanks. Can't ask for a better messenger than a regular customer. :)
Greetings,
I want to apologize to the folks here who did not receive their Blueline Angelfish juveniles, as the demand for these guys was incredible. We were able to ship out a few of these spectacular little fishes that haven’t been available for many years, but unfortunately some of the batch just wasn’t up to par to ship out and we had to backorder a few of them.
We uphold some very strict standards with our fishes, and if any fish is not in 100% perfect condition we will not ship the fish out, as we do not want to pass on sub-par or potentially problematic fishes to our valued customers.
We are hoping to have a second batch of them ready to go early to mid next week so we can ship everyone's backorders at that time, and I will personally see to it that everyone here who has one on backorder is taken care of.
Thank you all for your understanding and support, and happy fishkeeping!
Cheers!

Brian... the 3 in. adult i have just started picking at mysis for me. What does your adult eat?
flying53brian
07/17/2010, 08:19 PM
Kahuna Tuna:
-I totally agree with that.
maoiwowie:
- First of all glad to hear that he is picking at Mysis!
-My large one eats anything I put in the tank including my finger if I leave it their.
-He eats right from my hand and has been a pretty model citizen, this inlcudes flake, pellets and so on. I can't believe I got him for $60 at Vivid aquariums about a year ago.
-Now waiting for the new one to come in then can start to see if the 2 small ones will get along together before adding them to the DT tank. I think that I will put the small ones in a clear floating holding tank and then at least I can see if there is any aggression from the big one.
Good Luck and happy feeding!

Same problem and called customer service and rep tried to tell me I ordered a small adult, I did not want to argue with him so I forwarded my order that I took a screen shot of and sent to them. I hope this gets resolved because he reassured me that this was what I ordered and this was not going anywhere!
They only had a small Juvi when they became available so there was no possibility to make that mistake.
Man I hope they fix this, I also had the rep reference this thread so that he could see that others have already had this issue receiving the incorrect fish.

Check this out, I just got a reply from LA regarding this problem. Here is what they say. This is becoming unbelievable and very upsetting.
Quote:
Dear Brian,
Thank you for your email and recent order with Drs. Foster and Smith's LiveAquaria. When placing orders online we are not able to make any changes to them. Our records indicate that you placed your order online for the Small Blueline Angelfish Adult, and not the Juvenile Blueline Angelfish. Unfortunately, your order has already shipped from our facility, and we are not able to make any changes. Again, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Thank you for choosing Drs. Foster & Smith LiveAquaria for your live aquatic needs. You are a valued customer and we look forward to hearing from you in the future.

That's what I was afraid of when I was checking the Item Number which match from the shipping confirmation email and order confirmation email then noticed LA's website changed the Juvenile item number.
We all have the order confirmation email with the word 'Juvenile' on it and hope that would be enough to resove the problem. Otherwise what other proof do we have now that they changed the description?
I would give them a couple of days to see that this is not isolated cases as I'm sure there are more.
Edit:
Anyone of us can alter the email content but the proof is still on their email server when they sent out the order confirmation. My order email confirmation was dated July 13th 10:32 AM (EST).
Good morning,
I want to assure everyone who has ordered a Juvenile Blueline Angelfish that you will in fact be receiving a juvenile fish. Yesterday in an effort to ensure we have all of the proper sizes listed on our site for both Juveniles and Adults, the line item description for all of the backordered fishes was inadvertently changed from Juvenile to Adult.
I am very sorry for the confusion and please let me know how everyone fish arrives and settles in!
Regards,

Good morning,
I want to assure everyone who has ordered a Juvenile Blueline Angelfish that you will in fact be receiving a juvenile fish. Yesterday in an effort to ensure we have all of the proper sizes listed on our site for both Juveniles and Adults, the line item description for all of the backordered fishes was inadvertently changed from Juvenile to Adult.
I am very sorry for the confusion and please let me know how everyone fish arrives and settles in!
Regards,
This would have been better handled if this information was disseminated to the customer service persons speaking to the buyers of these fish instead of on a forum such as this.

I got mine and it is being acclimated.
As Kevin assured it is a juvenile and in perfect condition. And, boy, was it shipped with a lot of water!!
Thanks Kevin,

I knew you'd come up with something like this. Yeah, we know, you hate DFSLA. And were all sheep for buying fish from them.
You're right, it wouldve been better if all the operators knew every last detail about the fish. But they dont. This was a technical error that was corrected, and NO ONE will be inconvenienced at all by it, in any way, but somehow, you need to get your jab in at DFSLA.
I applaud DFSLA and Kevin Kohen, for coming here to RC to address it, for filling all the backorders (which SO MANY online stores wont do), and for putting people at ease about this issue.
Maybe you should start an online site for livestock that corrects all these horrific situations that DFSLA puts us in.

see post above; email sent to customer clearly shows lack of information about the fish by customer service reps, that could have easily been disseminated to the customer service reps via a simple email from Kevin or another manager at LA. This would have alleviated the problems several on here have about the correct fish they are getting.
This is simply good business practice.

See above. Problem seems to be first noted HERE in the forums. Customer Service reps work off the information they are given. In this case, there was a technical error which changed the naming on a item code. Apparently the customer service reps are supposed know its a problem, and been informed of the problem before the problem occured? Within less than 12 hours of the original issue of concern, the DIRECTOR of the company makes a public posts explaining what happened, explaining there wont be an issue, and somehow this isnt good enough for you? Thats absurd. Live Aquaria is a large company. Likely the largest online livestock retailer in the USA. And expecting every customer service agent they have to be 100% up speed with everything the Director is up to speed on IMMEDIATELY is patently absurd.
Like I said, who is inconvenienced by this? Who is having an issue? You, and I assume you didnt even order one.

I have ordered plenty of fish from LA over the years, so I don't have to defend myself against you, or anybody else on this thread.
This is simply poor business practice. A simple distribution email to customer service representatives would have solved this problem. And it is the responsibility of the company to ensure the reps are up to date on everything they are talking about. And this is not patently absurd by any means.
I did not order a Juvenile Blueline.

IT IS patently absurd, because you are saying all this as if you KNOW that Kevin Kohen had this information that this happened, knew about it all along, and just decided to not tell the customer service reps. When, quite obviously, from his statement, the change was made, and it wasnt ntoiced it was a problem until after the issues that arose here.
If it "is simply poor business practice", then you should NEVER do business with any company ever again. With there awful business practices of not resolving porblems before they know about them. With making sure that all the customers get exactly what they want. Wow! That is shocking! Im shocked.

I'll second what everyone else is saying here. I think LA (and Kevin Kohen) have been upfront an honest with everything regarding this issue. While I agree not everything always goes as smoothly as you or I would like, we have to remember the product type we're dealing with here. This is not the Gap, or Amazon, these are live creatures constantly going in and out of stock in all different sizes and each with their own slight differences (size, temperament, health, coloration, etc, etc).
I think LA does a fantastic job keeping their customer base happy, but melanotaenia just cannot be satisfied by them. I think the health of the livestock is second to none (especially from DD), and while you may pay a bit of a premium over your LFS (and not much at that), the 14-day guarantee is in my eyes insurance worth the small premium!
If someone thinks they can do better, I invite you to start your own business.

Melonotaenia your comments are 99% useless. Do you understand the extent that DFS and LA go to in order to ensure that ALL people that order through them have a great experience? Can you tell me another company you have ordered from where the managing director personally took care of your order and responded without hesitation?
Kevin and LA care about their customers and it shows. It is obvious that you are never going to be happy. I have made previous notes to the RC hierarchy about your negative prescense but I think there may be time for another look.
If you bought a juvinile gluelike and received something different then please continue your rant. If not, the just enjoy the pictures and keep your negative LA slander out of the thread. Action will be taken if you do not respect the forums and the information within.

melanotaenia,
You are absolutely correct, and if I was actually aware that one of my staff had made the error with the SKU's for this species, I surely would have taken the proper steps to disseminate the information to our customer service representatives and LiveAquaria supervisor to avoid any confusion. Unfortunately however, the first moment I was aware that there even was an issue, was when I turned on my PC this morning to read about it here on Reef Central over coffee from my home office.
I am not one to make excuses, and people can and do make mistakes as we are only human. What I can and have done however is analyze what transpired, and implement a set of specific guidelines and procedures to avoid making the same mistake in the future, so we can move forward in a positive direction and provide the best possible service to our valued customers.
Once again, I want to apologize for the inconvenience to everyone who purchased a juvenile Blueline Angelfish, and am happy that we were able to provide these fishes to fill everyone's backorder with the correct fish. Please keep the pictures coming!
Lastly, its very refreshing for all of our hard working and dedicated staff here at Drs. Foster and Smith to read so many posts with such positive comments and support from most everyone. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to comment about the level of care and service we provide as we all really appreciate it!
Sincerely,

These are two Bluelines that i purchased from LA these past 2 weeks. The 3.25in adult is from the DD, and the 2in juvi, that was received today was from the CC. I do not quarantine for disease from reputable sources like LA. After acclimation, i threw the Juvi in with the adult. There is some posturing but not much damage. I figured better get them together before the adult really establishes territory. As you can see, the juvi is not much bigger than my chromis.

Unreal. You have never doubted the service of LA? What have you done this ENTIRE thread? And how much have you derided customers of LA?
And, in my eyes, in reading Kevin's response, he more or less reaffirms that he didnt do a THING you accused him of.
It is too bad that some people cant be mature on these topics. Sponsors such as DFSLA deserve support, not unfounded criticism, from certain people.

Received my orders today and what a beauty I got from LA. After placing the order I emailed LA requesting a specimen close to 2" as much as possible and that's exactly what they shipped to me. I also ordered one from BZ after getting the back order email as I really wanted a juv and not miss out on it. This was the description from the order confirmation email from BZ: Blue Line Angelfish, Chaetodontoplus septentrionalis, Small: over 1.5-2", Indo Pacific. What I received was more like 2.5"+.
Lets go right to the pictures:

After seeing how vibrant the smaller juv BLs are so when I saw this one on the wysiwyg section listed at 1.5" I grabbed right away. It would be nice to watch these 3 growing up the next couple of years. So far the bigger one has ignored the 2 smaller ones and the med one is still chasing the new one occasionally as of this morning. I haven't seen them eat prepared food yet but they are all nipping on the LRs.

So you are the one who bought that juvi i wanted on bluezoo, I bought one from the regular fish section and even though he still has some of the juvi coloration he is pushing 2.5". I have a question im sure someone can answer, how did such a big batch come in? in my time in the hobby i had never seen that many bls available at the same time. I was able to see 2 juvis in person at my lfs and wait out a couple days to buy one from an online retailer.

Yes, I got the smaller one (listed at 1.5"). When I got home and saw the email I was surprised that it was still available along with the 2" specimen. I don't trust the listed size anymore but I trust the picture posted (wysiwyg section) and it has the nice juv color). The price was definitely right so there was no hesitation on my part to get it. LA still have them with size between 1 1/2 - 2 1/8.
I've never seen so many BL at one time let along juv size so I'm very happy with the purchases.

I couldn't resist and picked up a juvie BL from LA, she's been in the 60 gallon refugium since Wednesday. Its been nearly 48 hours since she came out of the bag and today was her grand appearance. She had been in hiding in her rock and algae palace and just content to peep out at me until today when she ventured forth! Still very shy but in magnificent shape, nice job Kevin, she ate some mysis and nibbled live rock and macro.
Shes about 2 1/4 inches, nice and plump and not a mark on her. I will try and get a pic but its hard in the refugium. This sure was a nice bunch of fish for the price and I am glad I got one.

Kahuna, congrat on getting a nice juv BL and hope to see some pix soon. I'm pretty sure she'll come out and be swimming in the open in no time. All 3 of mine came out in the open after couple of hours acclimation and I've an aggressive Coral Beauty in there. All 3 BLs held their own very well.
Now that I got a chance to sit back and looked over the pictures to determine the sizes of the 3 BLs I think the juv color phase out between 2.5-2.75". Can anyone confirm this?
Tip to tip 1 7/8"
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i287/reeftankpix/DSC_6574.jpg
This one is about 3/8" larger so my guess is 2 1/4"
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i287/reeftankpix/DSC_6559.jpg
The largest is about 1/2" bigger than the med one so my guess is 2 3/4"
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i287/reeftankpix/DSC_6551.jpg
After watching them the last couple of days I noticed they can hold their own very well just as the adult BLs and the larger one ate a ric with 7 polyps overnight all by herself. So watch out! So far they didn't touch any zoa yet.
Yes at 2.5 " they start to phase out. The 3" face is outstanding.

Kevin,
Hows the aggression between the two smaller ones you have? I have noticed that the large one doesnt' even pay attention to the small ones. The two little ones continue to go at it through out the day.
The first of the little ones I introduced to the DT tank is the one picking on the newest entry.

Brian,
The largest one doesn't pay any attention to the 2 smaller ones but the medium one does chases the samllest. I consider this normal behavior as their sizes are too close. I've two short video I just took and let me know if you would consider that normal.

Does look pretty normal to me and like that they will work out the order, I need to monitor mine a couple more days. Seems to be a little more aggressive on this end.
Maybe this will dye down soon or else I will be sitting up with fishing line and a beer waiting to drop the trap door in my fish catcher!
Very interesting setup you have there Kevin, like that a lot.

Well it's amazing how fast things can change, the two little ones have worked it out, ay least for now their is no chasing around. I am really glad for this as I thought maybe I owuld have to add the smaller one to my LPS tank as a loner.
Will monitor still. Hopefully all good now!

I'm pretty sure they'll be able work things out on their own in due time. BLs are pretty much like Meredithi, aggressive but knows when to run for cover. My BL pair been together for always a year now and the smaller one still gets chase around but my Meredithi pair been together close to 2 years now and the larger on stopped chasing the smaller one few months back.
The new batch are currently in a 120g sump that I purchased from a local reefer in anticipation of my DT upgrade but various projects has taken longer and more costly to complete that the tank upgrade isn't likely going to happen this year. The sump came with 150lb of LRs with various corals and I added some frags also. It's equipped with a 4300 ghp ext pump for circulation and I think it may be a bit too strong for little ones as they tend to rest on the base rock side where the filter sock normally goes. I also had to add a drop-in chiller to cool the tank even though this tank is in the basement as we are having record 90+ degree days here.

It's hard to measure as they are constantly swimming, but the smallest one is less than 1.75" It has 5 blue stripes across the middle. Bigger one is about 2 1/4 -2 1/2" and looks like a mini adult. Smallest one is devouring Hikari small mysis and live brine. Big one will eat some mysis and loves live brine. No issues with the two. I'll try and get some pics. Hikari small mysis is a great food for smaller and finicky fish. Many of my smaller fish like it after they have been chopped up into smaller pieces by a power head.
Yep, it is hard to measure them once they are in the tank. I usually measure and take pics after acclimating.
Over the weekend I ran into this guy and guess what I said?

It's really nice to see the juv triggling down to the lfs level where the buyer gets a chance to see it before buying. For the past year I see prices have come down quite a bit from the lfs in order to compete with online vendors to survive so I would think you're not going to pay that much of a premium.
Is this the largest batch of BLs (especially juv and small) make it to the states?

Its been close to 2 weeks and my Juvi doesnt seem to be eating anything i drop in the tank. She does pick incessantly at the live rock but has no clue about the floating morsels of live baby brine, frozen mysis and adult brine. My adult eats everything and anything including snail poop. Anyone else have this problem?
It usually takes this long. Mine are nipping the rocks and I have flooded the tank w/ Rods, live worms, and mysis. I think my larger one is eating a little now, but the smaller ones are not eating yet.
tang56
07/30/2010, 04:17 PM
I am having this same problem, it just picks off the rocks. Allthough it has picked at mysis and shredded nori, then it seems to "chew" it then spits it out...

Nipping on rocks is a good sign they're hungry and eating. Mine didn't start taking frozen till about the 4th day and it was only nipping and spitting. Took 2 more days then they starting to eat well and another couple of days the 2 larger BLs started eating flakes and pellets.
All 3 are getting along pretty well now.

My two juvies are eating Hikari mysis and live brine like crazy. Smallest one now looks like it swallowed a pea.
Those that are having problems how much flow do you have in the tank? I have lots of flow which seems to encourage them as the food goes by them real fast and they get very excited and chase the food.

Lots of flow, lots of floating carcass... just no hits. You figure the juvi would learn from the adult. Well i guess its a matter of time. Im not scared yet of it perishing. Still healthy and eating pods...

When I got my pair a couple years back I actually got them in December '08, which I was informed by the collector that it was rare for such small size adults (2.5" & 3") to be available for collection. However I was told that typically smaller adult Bluelines are more common to the US market in the spring and juvies in the middle of the summer...so yes, technically it is the "season" for Bluelines.

Ryan,
It's just about 2.5" I wonder how long it'll still have it's juvenile yellow stripe. Seems like it's already fading out. Eats like a pig already. Loves Hykari Mysis and I'm going to get him on pellet/flake ASAP.

Awesome!!!
Will you treat it w/ prazi/copper?
Also, what tank is it going in and w/ what tankmates?
skibum9884
08/02/2010, 11:29 AM
It will be getting prazi/copper. It is going into an SPS dominated Elos System 70 for now (I'm not one for "rules" of what is reef safe). Tankmates will be a pair of Joculators and possibly some Red Spot Cardinals (I had a bunch previously, but unfortunately lost all of them to unknown reasons).
Obviously this will not be a permanent home for these guys. I'm going to upgrade to an Elos 120xl or maybe even 160xl sometime in the next 1-1.5 years.

Nice Fish David!!
Mine is doing very well in the QT with her buddies. She is eating Flake, Mysis and Rods Veg.
I will try to get pictures up as soon as I can. Mine is very small, and the blue stripes only show up when I use flash or when she is in the right lighting. I would venture to guess that she is right at 1.5"

The yellow on the 2 1/4" is fading fast but the 1 7/8" is still retaining the yellow very well. I can't believe how fast the yellow faded so enjoy it and snap those pics away while it's still there.
Good news is that the smallest one is eating flakes and pellets as well now and that makes multiple feedings much easier.

Well, everything was fine and then my purple tang decided to let him know who is the boss of the tank. But I'm used to that, he teaches all the newbies who's boss. Then my jocs decided to get in on the fun. They chased him around and then my regal decided to help. I felt helpless watching, and turned the lights off to let things cool down.
Now he only comes out when the lights are off and everyone else has gone to bed. He looks good and is picking the rocks and eating, so I'm hoping with time the others will except him. Keeping fingers crossed.

I do but 90-95% are from online vendors (generally stick with the 4 I buy most). Conditions of the fishes I see from lfs are not what I would want to put into my tanks plus I usually buy from wysiwyg section. Strangely enough my fish survival rate is better with online then lfs.

If I can ask for one more favor--can you work with Max to pick out a pair for me? Tell Max it's for the guy in NJ that got 6 Flame angels from him back in 2007.
I'll be tie up till late afternoon and will check my email. If it's a go then I'll put the order in.
Thanks.
Hey Kevin,
First-I spoke to Max for you and he is getting his own shipment tomorrow of the MultiColored and has access to like about 100 others, in terms of size he can put together a pair for you in the range of 2" to about 4". He stated that if you place an order in the next couple of days he will quarantine and make sure they are eating first. Just give him a shout. Heknew who you were right away.
Second-I picked up that Blueline Juvi Max had and it was eating pellets right there and had a real strong solid yellow bar and around the outer edge so it was hard not to pass it up. DARNNET, I was hoping it did not look that good! LOL Will post pics of her later guys.
Best Regards

Thank you so much. Just got in and have to head right out for dinner. Will place the order when I get back. Can't beat getting a nice juvie BL especially seeing first hand.

When do you plan on ordering anything again? If you live close enough, maybe I can jump in on a shipment and split some shipping costs. I have been looking for a blue spotted angel.
Have a delivery this coming Tuesday from DD. If you want something I can try to put it first thing in the morning and see if LA can put it in. This order comes with free shipping so you can order from LA regular site as well.
I'll have a order from RHS either this week or next week (depending how long Max is going to QT the Multi-color pair for me). This will be free shipped too.
I usually get free shipping (90% of the time) so let me know and I can add your order with mine and the only thing I ask is don't let me hanging with the bag. I've very limited tank space.

Certainly seems to be no problem eating. The great thing about these Juvi's is how easy it is to get them eating. It is almost as though they are tank bred.
Congrats skibum!

When I got the 3 5/8" BL last year it took a while to get her eating so it's really amazing how fast these little ones are eating so fast. I feed them 4X (3X flakes & pellets and 1X frozen) per day and still seem like that's not enough. The 2 3/4" is getting big and I'm not kiiding that I think it grew 1/4" in just couple of weeks. One thing I noticed is that as she grows bigger she's getting more aggressive toward the middle one very mild toward the smallest.
btw--order placed for the Multi pair and email sent to Max.

What size did you ask for Kevin? Certainly nice fish. Max had a Multibarred Angel that was eating pellets, I would have bought it but was already sold.
I will post pics of the new one later tomorrow evening,by the way she is already eating pellets and mysis in the QT tank. Good call getting the one from RHS

Since Max will be QT the pair and getting them to eat first so I didn't specify sizes and rather leave that to Max putting 2 healthy specimens together.
Congrat on your new addition!

If you are fairly new to angelfish i would suggest not doing it, all the people on this thread doing pairing or even trios are experts at what they do. I have paired dwarf angels without problems but if i ever tried to pair large ones i would ask for advice from the reefers on this thread.

I don't wanna rush in new fish in just yet. Keep me posted on those angels you are ordering.
Well as you can tell mine is more out of the Juv stage he has lost most of the yellow bar. He is currently in my QT and is eating like a champ. I am afraid to treat him with cupramine after my last loss of my Goldflake in QT....How are you guys going to QT the Blueline?

Mine got 0.3-0.4 of Cupramine a week after they started eating. Still eating and acting great. They go nuts now whenever they see me.
I guess I am nervous with the copper now......Especially because telling that color is so much a PITA.....Just when I thought I had the QT process down pat I kill my goldflake...
I don't want that to happen to another fish. Well I just got him Saturday. The store did a FW dip on him for me as I was in the store. I got home acclilmated him and he was eating that night...My buddy keeps trying to get me to use regular copper because the treatment time is less 14 days versus 4 weeks.....That makes me even more nervous.

"Regular" copper is MUCH harsher than Cupramine so I wouldn't go that route. I don't know why treatment time would be different. Life cycle of ich and velvet is what determines treatment time.

RBU1,
Don't look back to what if! There are so many factors that's beyond our control especially the larger sensitive angels. If I were ever to get another GF it will definitely be 2".
Since they performed the FW dip did you check for flukes in the container? That's a big reason to put the to put the fish through that stress for the FW dip.
This is probably the best batch of fish that came in in a long time without any problems. I didn't notice any ich or flukes (they may have it but I haven't notice it yet). All 3 of mine went straight into the reef which is normally against my intro procedure.

Nothing was in the container. Not sure what you mean by best batch of fish. How do you know they all came from the same "batch"? Were did you get your fish from?

I received 2 from BZA and 1 from LA as they were the first to post online. Look at the many that all the folks got whether online or lfs most reported eating right away and I haven't seen any report of illness, of course I can only go by what I see see here on RC and private conversations.
Anyone that wanted one can get one. How often you see this with BLs and let alone juvies.
