big al's online is having a sale, not sure if im allowed to post link, but is the coralife super skimmer an accepted brand here? does it work good? this will be going on a total of aprox. 80 gallons. 30 of that is a sump + refuge, and with a refuge i wont need AS much skimmer power, although i know they serve different purposes, its just this is a GREAT deal.

I wouldnt pay 30 bucks for one. They are one of the worst skimmers on the market.

ok, thank you! just looking because they were cheap, and if they worked then that would be awsome!

well they do work, I'll give u that, it did skimm my 15 G ! for 1 month

but they are NOT good skimmers at all !

crapy pump, crapy design I think the waterlevel screw is almost not working and ... :S

dont waste ure money getting this for ure 80 galons as it would do nothing.

they would fit a 20 G with low bioload. but still be a waste of money.

Fuge is no replacement for skimmer, but I wont get into that since its equipment forums :)

I agree ... they don't work very well (for most people)

I bought mine and used it for 2 months.. Now it's sitting in my garage

I bought a used one, modded it a bit and it does an okay job on my 60g total system. I have a 40g display, so the bioload is low. I'm not completely mad at it but it isn't a skimmer I recommend. I'd say you'd be better off dropping $250-300 on a good skimmer and keeping it for the life of your tank instead of blowing money on the SS65 and upgrading later

Dont knock that skimmer to much. I used one for a year and the girl who bought my tank still uses it. Its a champ! For $30?? Do it!
