This will be my second sump attempt. My first sump was a 30g tank. I had the fuge and skimmer on opposite sides of the of the tank with the return pump in the middle. My new sump will be going under my currently empty 120g reef tank w/ dual corner overflows. The sump will be a 55g tank and I am currently planning on using a similar design as before.

My question is: with the extra room in this new sump should I just make the Fuge bigger or should I look to add another piece of equipment down there? I already plan on using a filter sock btw.

However you do it you should plan on your skimmer overflow to run thru the fuge. I had all kind of microbubbles until I ran it thru the chaeto...Now I'm bubblefree.

My 30g sump currently has it with the return in the middle and I have no micro bubles in the DT. I was told that it's beneficial for the fuge to 1. Get unfiltered water and 2. So you can't individually change the flow rate in the fuge.
