It's nice to see colonies of zoas, most people seem to buy in frags only.

I know something I think my tank looks stupid with so many frags

I've never seen colonies of 'nice zoas' for sale.

Can you buy a rock with 25-50 purple hornets ? Raspberries ? Bam bams ?

I'm starting to think they don't ever have a chance to get that big -perhaps due to unsatisfiable demand.

I actually did get a small colony (50 polyps or so) of Bam Bams at a local swap in January. I have since fragged the colony into 3 separate colonies due to incredible growth. The largest colony now covers roughly a 4 inch by 5 inch area, and the other two are nearly half that size. I have not taken the time to count them:)

Nice looking find on the zoa colony, Dockery. It is getting harder and harder to find them.

I just got a new inland reef bandsaw. Just for fun I cut up a my colony of 5-600 Bamm bamms into 4 smaller but still good sized colonies all on live rock. I may even sell 1 or 2 :)

Great purchase.

Looks good spreading onto the sand.

Thanks guys it is actually kind of still on the mat just sitting on the sand, my hope is it grows up the rock and around to some of the others. I do have a pretty big mat of "gochera" (who knows) they are pink with double skirts on the rock that these are leaning on.

I am ready for some of them to grow- but I guess for a couple of months in the tank they are doing well, I should have a ton of frags by winter and when we take it down next summer who knows!
