Looks a lot like diatom algae growth to me.

I am assuming this is a new tank, looks like the normal brown/diatom algae that a new tank will develop. I wouldnt worry about it.

Moved to New to the Hobby for more views.

I'd guess an alga of some sort, too. Is it a thin layer on the rocks?

Thanks guys, I figured as much but I wanted to be sure. It is a new tank, roughly 2-3 months. It is a thin layer on the rocks.
