I have come to the conclusion there may be something about or in southdown sand (pulverized limestone) that irriatates a wrasse fish when they burry themselves in it. Every wrasse I've bought has not lived more then a couple weeks and I think I;ve been through 4 yellows and 3 christmas in my 300 and now 2 yellows and a leopard in my 100g

I dont seem to have any issues with other fish. So I'm tending to believe it's the snd they sleep in at night. Maybe a chemical thing or maybe it is too rough (not being an ocean tumbled or beach washed sand)

has anyone else had an issue with wrasses and southdown?
