I am breaking down my Fish only tank to focus on my display. i would like to save the LR and LS for my next project which involve a 280 in wall display. Basically taking my 90's and turning them into one sweet love machine....cant wait:fish2: So my question is this realistically i wont be upgrading for at least 8 months or more what do I do with the LR and LS??? I have heard of people taking a high pressure hose to the rocks to kill everything off then storing, what do I do to the live sand?? How do I dry it, then store it?

You can easily scrub the rocks, dry them, place them into a Rubbermaid container or bucket to store them. When you are ready to use them again, scrub them again really good and place them into the tank. I did this and had no problems.

I am not so sure about storing the sand, live sand can contain a lot of organisms and built up detritus. You might be able to wash the sand really well, then store it and wash it again, but I am not sure.

Why not cook the rock and sand?
