It really depends on how high a bio load and how much you feed.

I do a little more than 20% every two weeks.

if you want to go by a nice round number, 30% change a month is 78 gallons, divide by 4 is about 20 gallons a week. you can use that as a starting point and adjust accordingly.

personally i like to do weekly water changes to keep from having big swings in parameters . in saying so i would go with 20 to 30 gallons a week . it also depends on what you are keeping in your tank and the bio load IMO .

I would do an amount (( whatever it may be )), that is the easiest for you to do -- which means that you will stay on schedule and do it weekly. If you end up picking an amount that equals exact 30%, but is a huge PITA to do, you won't end up doing it.

For me, I do 5 gallons weekly on all 3 of my tanks (( 75, 58, & 33 )), so, yeah the 75 gets a smaller percentage then the 33, but it is easy for me to do. 5 gallons is the amount of the old salt buckets that I have, so why not use them.

I do a 30 gallon change in my 180 every week or two simply because that is about how much fits into my 32 Gal Brute. If you make things easy you are definitely more likely to keep up on it.

10% weekly is what I do, every Sat or Sun. I have 2 empty Reef Crystals buckets that hold about 7 gal each, so it works out.
