View Full Version : water change then heat increase

I did a water change and added about 8lbs of LR to my tank. The temp is now up about a degree. Is that due to the extra rock I put into the tank?

Was the water you added warmer than the tank water? It probably isn't a major concern. Only if it went up several degrees or started to rise slowly.

no water was a bit cooler by .5 degrees. The tank has been running for about 6 hours after the change and went about about 1.5 degrees.

Was the rock hot? How old is your tank?

Have you checked the salinity? How long in advance was the salt mix added to the raw water?

rock was probably hotter than the tank, 1 degree isnt bad at all though.
