Got a tank off of Craigslist and it came with about 50lbs of dry rock that was live at one time. Lady said it has been out of the water for 8 months. Will it be fine to just drop in the tank and seed it with fresh LR or does it need to be cooked in vinegar and H20?

I would just rinse it really well, then put it in the tank and let the cycle begin. Adding some LR would help to seed the dead rock.

Go to a car wash and make sure you get all the dead stuff off before you put it in your tank

I like that idea, I will have to remember that for next time. Wash your car/truck and rocks at the same time.:lmao:
